Too much, too little?

Ok so question 1 groupies........have just finished week 2 of teaching (the first proper non-handbook discussion) and think i might have overplayed the knowledge sharing element of teaching. Specifically, i mean the material i'd prepared lasted for 70 minutes and although there were breaks for pair/group work, is that too much? On reflection, it seems so. I would welcome your thoughts!

What did the students think? Did you get any feedback at the end?
Did the students seem engaged? Questions questions questions! I guess what I`m saying is it is difficult to know sometimes, I look forward to discussing further with you

I asked the year 3s and they seemed amazed that i actually cared about their learning style! As for the year 2s, they seemed quite happy, but that was my assessment - i didn't actually ask them. I think i need to more regularly ask for feedback at each lecture - something i'm not doing currently (saying that it's only week 3!)
